Arcade Belts & High Fives Present The 2nd Annual Skinny-Ski-Athon! Monday at Squaw | Spectate, Participate, & Pledge!

Last year saw the first ever Skinny-Ski-Athon. Athletes strapped on their favorite old pair of skinny skis and lapped KT-22 a mind numbing number of times from bell to bell. Skinny skiers had gone around to all of their grandparents neighbors and friends asking for people to pledge a dollar amount for every lap they could ski in one day. Just like an old fashioned walk-a-thon, but on skis. All of the donations went to the High Fives Foundation to raise money and awareness for athletes who have suffered life altering injuries.

Monday morning at Squaw skinny skiers will be lining up at the Wildflour Bakery between 8:00-9:00 am to register for the 2nd annual Skinny-Ski-Athon benefiting the High Fives Foundation.

The Goals:

If you want to ski in the Skinny-Ski-Athon all you have to do is print out a copy of the pledge sheet below (click here or on the image below to be redirected to the pledge form), get someone or several people to make a pledge or flat donation, and bring it along with a pair of skinny skis to the Wilflour Bakery in the Olympic House at Squaw Valley between 8:00-9:00 tomorrow morning and be ready to ski… a lot.

If you would like to contribute to the Skinny-Ski-Athon, all you have to do is flag down one of the ridiculous looking skiers on narrow boards skiing KT as fast as they can manage all day and tell them you want to make a pledge. Or, you could contact High Fives and work out a way to contribute to them directly.

We know this post is kinda last minute but if you want to contribute or participate please don’t be shy! The goal is to reach out to as many people as possible!

If you can’t participate or pledge at least have a little fun while you are spectating and give the skinny skiers a good heckle if you see any of them dogging it later in the day! Skinny-Ski-Athon 2012!
