How horrible does this sound? You’re cruising up the chair to cruise a ski run when the chair your sitting on detaches from the cable and falls 30 feet to the ground. Sounds repulsive, right?
Well, that just happened to 3 unlucky skiers at southeastern Minnesota’s Coffee Mill ski resort in Wabasha.
Three 20-something-year-old men were taken to the hospital on Saturday after their chairlift came off the cable and fell 30 feet to hard snow. One man was seriously injured and was airlifted to St. Mary’s hospital in Rochester, MN. He is believed to have suffered serious back injuries. The other two’s injuries are unknown.
Investigators are currently trying to figure out what the hell happened on Saturday to cause that chair to fall.
The ski resort closed the lift that the chair fell from but didn’t close the resort after the accident.
How scary would that situation have been?
