The last few weeks have been slim pickings at the Boat. But yesterday was a powder day with 7 inches of fluff to play in (about time). The resort is currently reporting a 23-inch base at mid-mountain and 25-inch base at the summit on powder/packed powder conditions. With the additional terrain opening earlier in the week, the resort offers 967 acres, 70 trails, 9 lifts and nearly 3,500 vertical feet of skiing and riding.

“Mountain crews have done a tremendous job putting together a great snow surface and holidays guests are sure to enjoy their hard work and have a wonderful time,” commented Doug Allen, vice president-mountain operations for the resort. “We had to do some additional work in Sunshine Bowl due to the early December wind storm, but the opening of that area is only a few days behind our traditional schedule.”

Forecasts call for continued cold temperatures through the holidays and a few chances for snow before the pattern shifts to a more traditional La Nina cycle around Christmas.
