With no new snow in a week, conditions are getting thin up on the resort and a bit skied-off. We are definitely in need of some new snow to freshen things up and cover all the rocks starting to appear. Despite this, the skiing has been really fun and technical and the demanding conditions are great to get you in shape.
Looks like mother nature may help us out for the holidays though with a good looking forecast predicting about 6-10″ over the next few days! Anything will help at this point and of course, the more the merrier!
Even though we have not had any new snow in a week, the resort continues to open additional terrain keeping things interesting and fun out there.
Prospect Bowl is just about fully open including the hike-to runs out to Genevieve, Bald Mtn just opened, and most of the terrain off Chair 14 is now open but getting pretty rocky. It is a good idea to keep skiing your beater boards until we get some more coverage, the ‘San Juan Stonegrind’ is in full effect!
This afternoon it started snowing up top and the peaks were looking socked-in. It wasn’t coming down hard yet, but hopefully it was a sign of good things to come. The next few days could be promising and let’s hope so, we certainly need a good storm!
Another awesome development on the mountain is the opening of lower Telluride Trail, Bail-out, and Jaws allowing ski access into town! No more downloading on the Gondola!
Let’s all ask Santa for some of the white stuff and hope we get dumped…Happy Holidays!
