Bike season is drawing to a close in the West, but don’t cry ski season is almost here. You wouldn’t know it based on the 80+ degree heat in SLC, but I am forecasting a significant snowfall in LCC in the next 2-3 weeks. Enough to go get our hike on if you didn’t gain too much weight this Summer. Trent Bona sent in some of his favorite bike shots from this summer for you to check out.
If you have some quality shots send them to Daryn@unofficialnetworks.com and if they actually are quality I will post them for all the world to admire.

Brian Faenza pins his way to a second place finish in this year’s Gravity Slave Chainless Downhill Race. Competitors had to choose one bike setup for 3 very different trails and use only gravity to gain momentum. Brian opted for his big bike but knowing the trails, where to pump and where to pin made the all the difference in this comp.
I’ll keep this one short: 30 ft table top, in the dark. Eliot Rosenberg at Evolution Bike Park, Crested Butte, CO.
One of my original riding buddies from back in the mountains of North Carolina and all around trail building wizard, Andrew Mueller, came to the Butte in August to do some recon on our new Evolution Bike Park. While here he also tested out his G force tolerances, this time on the Rollercoaster section of Psycho Rocks Trail.
This image pretty much sums up the new Evolution Bike Park at Crested Butte Mountain Resort: Incredible scenery, fun flowy trails with plenty of hits, and a strong core scene of talented local riders. Here, Ray Harter tosses some steeze on the Woods Trail while the Peak of Mt. CB keeps watch.
Peter Mills of Elevated Trail Design spent some time riding with me in Crested Butte this past summer. As soon as we hit the bike park I took him straight to the goods: Psycho Rocks Trail. The combination of steep, rocky, loose trails and flowy ladder sections is a trail aficionado’s paradise. Needless to say I think he went back to work with some fresh inspiration for the drawing board!
