After last weeks storm, the cruise ship called Portillo is still holding tons of good snow. With freezing temperatures at night and little to no wind there is a ton of fresh that can be easily traversed into and even more to be found if you’re willing to hike for it.

Chris Davenport is here as well and reports that the Super C Couloir is DEEP right now. It apparently took him about 4hrs to boot up yesterday, but only 2ish today. As a reference, 1 hour 5 minutes is his best time so I would guess when he says DEEP, he means it.

The Lake Run opened for the first time today since last weeks storm. South to southeast aspects are holding creamy wind buff and the snow bridge exit is a unique (death defying) experince worth checking out itself.

Sun, fun and moderate temps are in the forecast through Thursday with the possibility of a 3″ refresh on Friday. Portillo feels a bit like winter in California right now and it feels…damn good?

UPDATE August 24th, 2011 at 2:30pm local time: Socked in/flat light and icey. Temps dropped a good 10 degrees or more in about 10 mins time when the clouds rolled in.
