The Heart of Darkness is a classic blue-run here in Whistler. Countless runs have ended with this trail in my time, and to be honest, it never really gets old. The way in which I ride down this trail has changed over the years, as it’s route and features alike. To make things more exciting and fun, I enjoy throwing in extra turns where most would continue straight down the middle. On this short section of trail I effectively add well over a half dozen extra cuts and mini drifts or side hits. This style isn’t subject to just this particular trail, but I like to incorporate that style of riding to whatever trail I find myself on. In my opinion, I’m essentially using the trail in a more effective matter and getting more riding out of each lap. It’s really just a matter of riding a little slower and looking for cool things you might be able to do next time you come down.
