I know there are people who are stoked for more pow. I know there are people who are sick of snow. I definitely know there are a bunch of professional cyclists who are gonna be appalled with the white stuff.
Yet, none of our perceptions matter because there is a storm coming whether we like it or not.
www.TahoeWeatherDiscussion.com tells us that by tomorrow morning…
“…we could see a couple of inches at lake level but once it’s daylight it will have a hard time sticking. Above 7000 ft. expecting 3-6 inches by Sunday night with 6-9 inches along the crest.”

The information that should be catching our attention is directly above. Snow sticking to roads and slick road conditions. This could be a huge bummer for Amgen Tour of California, or it could make it really exciting. The tour organizers claim that they have a contingency plan if the snow is a problem, but what could it be. Where else in the Tahoe Basin can you get safe, snow free roads?
I’m just focusing on the best case scenario:
Skiing pow and watching the best cyclists in the world charge around our lake & mountain on the same day.
Hopefully, the snow sticks to the mountains and not to the roads.
