Snow King is the s&%t! It’s steep, it’s uncrowded, and it’s big- 1,500′ (okay, maybe only by East Coast standards). The point is, it’s often overlooked for the more popular JHMR. However, on the right day, “The King” can be just as fun as the big resort.

Snow King essentially gets steeper as you gain elevation (or flatter as you lose it). The top pitches are nothing to scoff at- there’s some steep terrain and pillows off the top. Plus, lift tickets are more reasonable if you’re on a budget- $42 for a full day, $30 for three hours, or $20 for night skiing.

Don’t miss this not-so-hidden gem. It’s good times and, on the right day, it can be as good as the village- minus the crowds. Or, if nothing else, you can get drunk and go night skiing. What’s the worst that could happen?
