After reading the article on The Ski Channel titled “Epic amounts of snow in Whistler right now”, we have just one thing to say: “Quit hoggin’ – the snow that is!” According to the article, Whistler has already received 142.5 inches in November, with 80 inches alone in the past week.- This amount of snow is almost 3 times the November average of 58 inches and approaching the November record of 164 inches! What does Stephen Butt, Communications Coordinator and voice of the snow phone for Whistler Blackcomb have to say about all this white stuff? “I’ve skied here for over 15 years and I’ve never seen this much snow so early in a season, it seems like every day’s snowfall is topping the last. We have already received one third of our average annual snowfall for the entire season and it’s only four days into the season, it’s unbelievable!” The massive amount of early season snowfall has already called for Whistler to move up its opening date and, as you can see from photos posted to Whistler’s website, good times are most definitely being had. I guess they might deserve it just a little considering they have the olympics to prepare for but come on Mother Nature! Share the wealth!
