According to the Sierra Sun and a few other publications:
SQUAW VALLEY USA â?”- A skier was killed in an accident at Squaw Valley on Thursday Afternoon. Squaw Valley Fire Chief Pete Bansen said they received reports of “skier vs. tree,” and dispatched to the Granite Chief lift area, along with Careflight. Ski patrollers administered CPR until Squaw Valley Fire paramedics and Careflight arrived, but the skier was pronounced dead at the scene, Bansen said. No more information was available about the skier. Check back for more information as it becomes available.
