Extreme Snowboarder Roch Malnuit Slaying Steep Lines in Chamonix

From: EpicTVadventure

There are a handful of snowboarders in Chamonix slaying truly steep lines, and there are even fewer putting up first descents. Roch Malnuit is one of those few. In this interview, Roch talks about his top descents, the emergence of splitboarding and the importance of knowing when to turn back.

Chamonix, Truckee Style | A Day In The Life

March 10th, 2013 by

Music meister and trombone toting Trevor Thompson has been out to get it in Cham, skiing big lines and getting his Ice Tool workout in.  If you haven’t been to Chamonix, you should probably book now!

The first two months in Chamonix have blown my mind. The skiing has been great, the food fantastic, and the stoke high. Living here has changed the way I see the mountains. For instance, without facing the risk of losing my pass, my life-long paranoia of hopping over railings and ducking under ropes has been cured completely. The European logic is simple, as long as you lower the safety bar on the chairlift, you can go anywhere in the mountains you’d like. Makes sense to me! After a couple weeks of warmer weather, winter is on its way back so keep your eyes out for some more videos proving that life in the Alps doesn’t suck!

Ski 2800 meters Down From the Aiguille du Midi with Andreas Fransson

From Google Translator : Glacier Rond is Andreas Fransson favorittur in Chamonix. The tour starts at the Aiguille du Midi, and provides about 2780 meters skiing until you are down to Chamonix. This makes the trip to one of the world’s longest lift-based skiing.
At the top, the terrain is steep and exposed, and when the film was made was the going pretty hard. Farther down, on the glacier, we found amazing powder.

After the tragedy on Mt. Manaslu last week, it looks like Glen Plake is taking the first steps back to normalcy after narrowly escaping death and losing fellow ski and mountaineer companions. This video with Nate Wallace and others at a fair in Chamonix is a good sign.
