FAIRFAX, California – The Mountain Bike Hall of Fame has announced its 2024 inductees, including six individuals who’ve left their mark on the sport through competition, media, manufacturing, race commentary, and more. While public voting was previously used to determine inductees, the hall of fame now uses a selection committee to prevent induction of only the most famous names.

The 2024 class includes three individuals notes as “The Enduro Pioneers”: Frenchmen Fred Glo, Italian Enrico Guala, and Scotsman Chris Ball. All three came together in 2011 to bring endruo mountain bike racing to the world, first attempting to bring it to the UCI and eventually launching the Enduro World Series in December 2012. The first event took place in May 2013, and since then the sport has grown on a global scale.

The class also includes Australian Sam Hill, who first took bronze at the UCI Junior Downhill World Championships in 2001 and followed with two back-to-back Junior Downhill World-Championship gold medals in 2002 and 2003. Since then, Hill has won three UCI Downhill World Championships (2006, 2007, 2010), two UCI Downhill World Cup Overall titles (2007, 2009), and three Enduro World Series Overall titles (2017-2019).

Scottish mountain bike and street trials legend Danny MacAskill, well known for his incredibly popular YouTube videos, also made the list. His first viral video, “Inspired Bicycles”, popped off in 2009, bringing tens of millions of views to his channel over the years. In 2010, he launched his first Red Bull sponsored video, “Way Back Home”. MacAskill has continued to tour the world performing his skills, all while uploading wild videos and garnering hundreds of millions of views.

The last inductee, Jeff Steber, founded Intense Cycles in 1993, showing off his first bike design, the Spyder, at the the Interbike show. All of the frames he brought were sold within a few days. Jeff’s next desing, the M1 downhill bike, took famed snowboarder Shaun Palmer to sixth place in the 1996 World Cup downhill race. Steber continues to push innovation in mountain bikes, building designs in everything from cross-country to downhill and e-MTBS.

Congrats to all of the inductees in the class of 2024!
