KIRKWOOD, California – If there’s one good way to celebrate closing weekend at your favorite ski resort, it’s with a whole load of snowballs!

This clip, shared to reddit by u/twomoments, comes from Kirkwood’s Chair 10, where the last chair tradition means a lot of snowballs. According to commenters, as the clock approached 4 o’clock on the last day of the season, skiers and snowboarders alike park at the top of the trail, pelting everyone who comes up the lift behind them with snowballs. Once the lift stops running, everyone skis down together to celebrate a season well skied!

I imagine the lifty knew who was on the chair, and that’s why it stopped so close to the top. According to u/twomoments’ comments, he was spitting up some blood for a bit after getting hit the face a few times, and I believe it. Those people were properly whipping snowballs. It’s all in good fun though!
