The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are investigating the death of a 34 year old male skier who died Sunday at Lake Louise Ski Resort in Alberta, Canada. Thecragandcanyon.ca is reporting the skier, who was from the Rocky Mountain House area, lost control and struck an “object” while descending the lower section of the front side of the resort.
He was taken by ski patrol to the ski patrol shack and resuscitation attempts were made. A STARS air ambulance was dispatched to the scene but was called off once he was pronounced dead at the resort.Â
Lake Louise Ski Resort reports, the victim was found in a treed area under the Glacier Express Quad and the incident occurred just before 4 p.m.
Dan Markham of Lake Louise Ski Resort had this to say on the resort’s behalf:
“At this point in time, the Locke family and all the staff are exceptionally heartfelt about what happened. We know that everybody on the team did everything they possibly could, and our hearts go out to the family.”
