Just a little over a week ago, Patagonia joined thousands of other businesses in taking a low-carbon stance so that future generations aren’t plagued by the fallout of human-induced climate change.

In their letter to President-elect Donald Trump, Barack Obama, the House Of Representatives, and the global leaders at COP22 in Marrakech, the businesses involved urged progressive climate-change policy that would curb carbon and pollution, while protecting our wild lands for generations to come.

“Building an energy-efficient economy in the U.S., powered by low-carbon energy will ensure our nation’s competitiveness and position US companies as leaders in the global market – all while doing the right thing for our planet.” – Michael Kobori, vice president, sustainability, Levi Strauss & Co

Now, Patagonia is taking that stance one step further by putting their money where their mouth is. The outerwear company based in Ventura, CA will donate 100% of Black Friday sales to grassroots organizations whose goals are to protect and conserve our air, water, and wilderness. “These are small groups, often underfunded and under the radar, who work on the front lines,” said the President and CEO of Patagonia, Rose Marcario. “We want to help our customers show love to the planet, which badly needs a gift or two (and still gets coal every year).”
