Turns out that out of control skiing in Colorado will cost you, especially if you run into an off duty Chicago Fireman.

According to The Summit Daily News, Casey Ferguson was skiing down the “Flying Dutchman” run @Keystone when he crashed into the plaintiff from behind. Ferguson was the uphill skier at the time of the incident.

Ultimately, the firefighter suffered a separated joint, which caused him to miss three months of work at the Chicago Fire Department. The jury ruled that Ferguson by virtue was skiing recklessly and ordered the Douglas County man to pay the victim $263,545 in damages.
