When most people think of skiing in the alps, Switzerland, Austria, and France come to mind.

With the exception of Germany, Italy is usually the country that brings up the rear when people talk about skiing. However, it shouldn’t. From Monte Bianco to the Dolomites, the skiing in Italy is some of the best in the world. Not to mention it’s cheaper, the lifts work better than they do in France, and Italians love to party.

Here are the 5 Best Ski Resorts In Italy

Located in the southern end of the Dolomites, Cortina d’Ampezzo offers some seriously world class skiing alongside some swanky Italian digs. The town is beautiful as are the women and skiing opportunities.

3) Cervinia

On the southern end of Zermatt, Cervinia is Switzerland’s Italian cousin. The skiing on the Cervinia side is world class with awesome steeps, chutes, and bowls.

2) Alagna

Located at the foot of Monte Rosa, Alagna is a beautiful area that boasts some serious skiing. It’s sleepy to say the least but the skiing is as rowdy as it gets. Also, little to no crowds make this Italian ski resort one of the best.

1) Courmayeur

The Italian side of Mont Blanc known as Monte Bianco, offers some of the best tree skiing in the alps. However, when the “sunny side” goes blue (which it does often), the backcountry skiing off the €110,000,000 Monte Bianco Skyway is some of the best in the world.
