The upper mountains around Tahoe are getting absolutely, positively hammered by snow right now. As of this morning Kirkwood is both the winner and loser, coming in with the highest snow totals but closing due to high avalanche danger and snow removal efforts that are currently hampering their operations. Sierra-at-Tahoe will also be closed today due to Too Much Snow!

Over at Squaw Valley they’re reporting nearly 3.5 feet of snow in just 48 hours!

And if that wasn’t enough, the snow will continue through Christmas and is projected to leave as cold, blower pow!
