Clark Libenson started heli-skiing up in in British Columbia with Canadian Mountain Holidays, or CMH, back in 1988. The corporate attorney has been stacking vert ever since, popping for $5,000 to $7,000 weekend trips as much possible according to this San Diego Union-Tribune article. Over the past 28 years Libenson has racked up an incredible 2.6-million vertical feet. If you are jealous join the club.

CHM is a pretty unique heli-skiing outfit and we can see why a guy wouldn’t really need to go shopping around much after experiencing what they have to offer. CHM boasts some serious variety in terrain with 11 different points of operation throughout BC. Here is a cool little story about that:

“At a time when nobody else was interested in securing recreational alpine tenure in British Columbia, Hans (CMH founder) struck out in a helicopter and literally surveyed the entire mountainous province. He wound up selecting 11 particular areas that, to this day, contain Canada’s finest ski terrain. All are within the Columbia Mountains (in particular, its sub-ranges, Selkirk, Monashee, Purcell and Cariboo), which represent the sweet spot when it comes to Heli-Skiing. They combine huge quantities of dry powder, ideal pitches above and below treeline, the easiest access to an international airport, plus old-growth forests that nature apparently designed for perfect tree skiing.Screen shot 2015-12-07 at 10.46.29 AM

You can see where a guy like Clark Libenson would find a sweet spot within the heli industry like CHM and become repeat customer. We hope you get to 6 million vert before you hang up the planks buddy and if we ever end up on the wrong side of the law in San Diego we know who to call (just kidding we know you’re a corporate attorney).
