Steamboat Ski Resort has announced that they will be opening early this year thanks to 41 inches of natural snowfall at its mid-mountain location so far this month.

This Saturday (Nov. 21), Steamboat will be spinning the Christie Peak Express chairlift from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. It’s the first time since the 2002-2003 season that the resort will open early.

“The Champagne Powder snow has been falling in abundance this month and shows no signs of letting up,” chief operating officer Rob Perlman said in a news release.

10″ of new snow today, more than 40 inches this month and it’s still snowing… What else is there to do but open the slopes early? Lifts start turning this Saturday, November 21! – Steamboat Resort
