Last night a fire broke out at Mad River Mountain destroying the “heart and soul of the ski resort”, it’s lodge.

Fire departments from four counties responded to the alarm that was finally declared to be under control at about 10 p.m.

Officials will be onsite today to try to determine what caused the fire.

No injuries have been reported.

Mad River Mountain is located just east of Bellefontaine, Ohio. It is not to be confused with the more popular Mad River Glen in Vermont.
