Gold- Australia
So far, Perisher resort in Australia reported 30 cm of new snow on June 1st with a 13.1 cm base. Perisher plans to open this weekend and will be accompanied by Thredbo as well most other Australian ski areas this weekend.
Silver- New Zealand

Although snow reports out of New Zealand have been hard to come by it seems as though the Kiwis are having a great start to their ski season. According to the Treble Cone snow report, the ski area has received 12cm in the last 24 hours with a village depth of 48cm and the upper mountain reporting a depth of 107cm. For New Zealand it’s outstanding. The only reason why New Zealand doesn’t win this battle is because most New Zealand ski fields don’t open till the final two weeks in June. However, smaller club fields may start running their rope tows early… snow permitting.
Bronze- South America

It looks as though South America has received some snow, all be it marginal amounts in the past 3 weeks. However, rain has plagued many ski resorts, namely Cerro Catedral, whose slopes were enveloped in landslides this past week. What that means for the Argentinian resort is yet to be known. However, South America tends to provide, especially during the late season.
