64-year old ski instructor Jean-Philippe Sanson was allegedly attacked by a senior figure from the ski school in Megeve at a post-race party. It has been reported that the fight was over the rights of older instructors to have priority over younger instructors.

Sanson suffered a broken nose and an injury to his eye, which required an operation.

The police in Briancon are now investigating the matter and the head of the Syndicat National des Moniteurs de Ski Francais (SNMSF), Giles Chabert, is expected to be interviewed by police.

Supposedly there has been a long-running battle between the older instructors who claim a right to work ahead of some of the younger less experienced instructors.
