It is being reported that a majority interest in Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort has been sold to the Cumming family, owners of Powdr Corp. Powdr Corporation is one of the largest ski resort operators in North America who’s Properties include Boreal Mountain Resort, California; Copper Mountain, Colorado; Killington Ski Resort, Vermont; Las Vegas Ski & Snowboard Resort, Nevada; Mount Bachelor, Oregon; Park City Mountain Resort, Utah; Pico Mountain, Vermont and Soda Springs, California.

The company has made headlines lately with its heated legal fight against Talisker Corp. and Vail Resorts. 

Snowbird’s co-founder, Richard “Dick” Bass,  said in a joint statement, “This partnership will enable Snowbird to achieve more rapid growth.” He goes on to say that, “our founding perspective and philosophy of providing a year-round destination mountain resort for the enhancement of body, mind and spirit, with our ever-present emphasis on environmental protection and sensitivity.”

Ian Cumming, of Powdr Corp., add to the joint statement by saying, “we are happy to be involved at a place that has so many fond memories for our family.”
