According to The Mirror, Michael Schumacher’s wife is building a $16 million medical suite in their home to allow the injured Formula One champion to leave Grenble University Hospital in France. The paper goes on to say that doctors now believe that it’s highly unlikely he will ever wake up.

A family friend told The Mirror: “The doctors have given it to Corinna straight. It is looking increasingly likely that any recovery from the coma will be partial and that, more likely, he will be in a permanent vegetative state for the remainder of his life.”

Corinna Schumacher is said to be using some of the family’s $960 million fortune to install the fully-equipped facility at their house on the banks of Lake Geneva in Switzerland. Since his accident, the racing legend has suffered tremendous muscle atrophy, losing 25% of his body mass.
