Areas of the Tahoe region (above 7000′) could see as much as 12 inches of new snow over the next 12 hours. This lastest snowfall will add to the modest few inches the area received yesterday.

* TIMING: PERIODS OF LIGHT SNOW THIS MORNING WILL INCREASE IN   INTENSITY DURING THE AFTERNOON AND EVENING.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS: 5 TO 10 INCHES ABOVE 7000 FEET. UP TO 2   INCHES DOWN TO 6500 FEET.

* SNOW LEVELS: 7000 FEET FALLING TO LAKE LEVEL DURING THE LATE   EVENING.

Tonight: Snow. Low around 26. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph becoming north after midnight. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 3 to 5 inches possible.

Thursday: Snow likely, mainly before 10am. Partly sunny, with a high near 28. Windy, with an east wind 15 to 20 mph increasing to 25 to 30 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 40 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
