Squaw Valley opened Sibo today and man was it nice. After yesterdays washout it was wonderful to have the sun shining and a friendlier snow surface to work with. Around midday the snow started to soften making the snow conditions quite fun and playful. Another big change from yesterday was the number of skiers and riders on the hill. There was easily a 10 fold increase in the amount of skiers and riders hitting the slopes.

Highlights of the day: The Funnel and Sibo Ridge.

The difference between upper and lower mountain right now is amazing. A skier friend of mine said today that in his 16 years living in Squaw Valley he has never seen such a juxtaposition between the lower mountain, with virtually  no snow, and the upper mountain with a healthy snowpack.
