Tahoe’s big 3 Colorado Investors (East West, Vail, & KSL) bought these resorts for a reason.  They understand that Tahoe ski resorts have the Bay Area and Sacramento area on lock-down.  That pays the bills, but doesn’t make investors big profits.

The Question: how to get those investors more coin.

The Answer:  More real estate & Asian and European Tourists.

“”I think over time we will see an international market develop in Tahoe, coming from Asia and Europe via San Francisco.” – Andy Wirth CEO of Squaw Valley via denverpost.com

Still think these Colorado guys don’t wanna blow up your ski resort?

“Real estate development can play a key role in enhancing the overall experience,” Wirth said. “What we’ve learned in this modern era of ski-resort development is how to integrate operational plans on the mountain and real estate plans at the base to create a more whole experience.” – Andy Wirth CEO of Squaw Valley via denverpost.com

The Denver Post has a quick article about this up right now.  Give it a read:
