Yep, it was a powder day at Wolfy

Wolf Creek, CO had their opening day today, October 8th, 2011.  It was a full-on pow day and the people were appeased.

October 8th? WTF. photo: jack dempsey

After snowing 36 inches during the week, it snowed 8 more last night to give the skiers and riders opening day faceshots.  What did it all add up to?  It added up to a lift served powder day in the beginning of October the likes of which have not been see before.  Where else has had lift served pow this early in the year ever?  We’d be curious to hear.

Wolfy has decided to not only be open tomorrow, but they also added Monday, October 10th to the schedule.  But, that wasn’t enough.  They are feeling so good about their mid-winter conditions in early fall (mind you, it’s only been fall for 16 days) that they’re gonna open up next weekend, October 15th & 16th, as well.  Road trip?

Wolf Creek Stats:

– Scheduled to be open October 9th, 10th, 15th, & 16th
