Olympique Lyonnais women's team is prepares with a high-altitude training camp in Tignes

The physiological adaptations gained from training at high altitude have long been incorporated into top athletes pre-season regimens, so its comes as no great surprise that the French women’s professional soccer club Olympique Lyonnais FĂ©minin have chosen Tignes Ski Resort in the French Alps to prepare for their upcoming competition schedule.

The decreased oxygen available in the air above 7,000 feet forces the body to increase red blood cell production, enhances oxygen utilization and improves lung capacity. The overall effect is a competitive advantage in endurance.
