Skier runs into two snowboarders in one go.
Skier runs into two snowboarders in one go.

Skiing out of control is bad. Hitting people on the mountain from behind is pretty atrocious. Turning around and yelling at the people you just hit from behind for not respecting the fact that there are other people on the mountain is insane. Based on the video caption, this snowboarder was teaching a snowboarding lesson when this woman slammed into both the student and the instructor in one go. You can see the snowboarder start to turn, right as the skier is trying to thread the needle, at a high speed I might add, between the two boarders.

Working off my limited knowledge of the French language and a whole lot of google translate, in the second video below, the woman appears to be scolding the person behind the camera for not being aware of other people on the mountain. The snowboarder is trying to tell her to pay attention, and she just throws it back at him.

Let’s be very clear, the skier is wrong here. You don’t get to claim it’s the snowboarders fault because the snowboarder stopped suddenly or took a turn you weren’t expecting, especially given that the first snowboarder is clearly learning. If you aren’t leaving enough space to stop in time, or you’re going to fast to avoid a collision, you are the problem. If you can’t do that stuff, you need to get off the mountain.

So was this woman the worst skier on the mountain? I don’t ask that because she’s bad skill wise, I say that because she’s so confidently incorrect about behavior on the mountain.
