“No. No. That will kill us.” –Helicopter Pilot

Mid-air disaster barely averted thanks to the quick response of a helicopter pilot flying a group of tourists over the Grand Canyon.

I’m not a helicopter expert but there’s tons of comments indicating the woman in the copilot seat attempted to grab the “rotor brake” which as you might guess stops the helicopter rotor. Rotor brakes are used once a helicopter is on the ground decelerate the rotors and keep them in place. If they are engaged while in flight the results can be catastrophic.

No doubt this woman was had a pre-flight briefing about what is safe and what is not safe to touch. I guess she wasn’t paying attention. This is freaking outrageous.
