A freeskiing legend from the DesLauriers family is coming home. Yesterday, Bolton Valley Resort in Vermont announced that Eric DesLauriers has been appointed as their new Mountain Operations Director.

Eric has spent the past fifteen years over at Palisades Tahoe, leading their world-class freeride team. His work at Bolton Valley will include “managing the ski patrol, lift operations, lift mechanics, grounds, vehicle and property maintenance, snowmaking, grooming, mountain bike trail crew, and mountain safety programs.”

The independent Bolton Valley is a family-run business in a world of growing ski conglomerates. The ski resort was built in the 1960s by Ralph DesLauriers. Eric spent his childhood and early adult life helping shape the ski resort, sculpting multiple glades, and molding the Timberline expansion area. After being away from the ski resort for a couple of decades, the DesLauriers and other investors bought the ski resort in 2017. Eric DesLauriers will join brothers Rob, Adam, and Evan in managing the resort. His sister, Lindsay DesLauriers, is the President and CEO of Bolton Valley.

In the press release, Eric DesLauriers stated his excitement to come home:

“I am super stoked to go full-circle and be part of the Bolton Valley team again. Everyone works passionately to create a positive and rewarding experience for our guests and coworkers. I am proud to be here and look forward to doing my part to build on the positive momentum at BV.”

During his freeskiing career, he and his brother Rob were featured in over 20 ski films. Clips from two of those Warren Miller films, which the legendary Dan Egan shared on his YouTube channel, are below.
