B.C. Heli-Skiing Avalanche Leaves At Least One Dead, More Feared

We have some very sad new to report out of Invermere, British Columbia this morning.

According to CTV News, at least one skier has passed away in a backcountry avalanche that occurred yesterday morning (3/1/23).

It is believed that nine people were involved in the avalanche, and more deaths are feared.

According to the mayor of Invermere, the skiers were recreating in the backcountry with RK Heliski.

The snowpack has been nothing short of dangerous in British Columbia recently. The one confirmed death in this incident brings the avalanche death toll to 10 for B.C. this season.
