Realtor.com Ranks Fourteen Lesser Known & Affordable Ski Towns In America

Last year, Realtor.com’s most affordable ski towns list ruffled some feathers in the Unofficial Networks community due to it being too focused on smaller towns on the East Coast and Midwest, which feature tiny ski areas. This year, Realtor.com made a better list that represents places where skiers would actually move to.

In a list called 14 Great Ski Towns You’ve Never Heard Of (That Are Affordable for Buying a Home), Realtor.com ranked some skiing destinations which feature great skiing with reasonable home values. Obviously, there are no places like Aspen on this list, but there are some good options like Anaconda, Kellogg, and Rutland.

I’d generally say this is a better list than last year, but there are still some flaws. Mankato, Minnesota is only near the small Mt. Kato, a ski area with only nineteen trails. Their defense to this is that Mankato is a bustling college town, which I think is fair. Also, I think Lincoln is not exactly a lesser-known ski town for people in the Northeast, and it struggles with traffic issues. The list from Realtor.com is below…
