What do you think the most historic ski area in Vermont is? The surprising answer is the Suicide Six Ski Area in South Pomfret. I did a piece describing their base lodge back in January, but these videos vividly describe the history of the hill. The video below from ABC 22 goes into the first rope tow in the country opening in Woodstock, how the Bertrams chose the spot and the name of the ski area, and how it was one of the critical spots that helped grow snowboarding.
