VIDEO: That Time A Drone Nearly Killed A Ski Racer

If you’ve ever wondered why they no longer allow drones over ski race courses, it all stems from this incident back in 2016 at Madonna di Campiglio, Italy when a 22lbs drone carrying a camera that was being used for the TV broadcast came crashing onto the course from a height of 65 feet. Thankfully it missed Marcel Hirscher but not by much. If that sized payload had made direct impact the consequences could have been dire, let alone the fact that it had spinning blades.
