Michigan’s Boyne Mountain Announces 8-Pack Chairlift for 2022-23 Season

Boyne Mountain Resort in Boyne Falls, Michigan became the latest Boyne Resort to announce their 2030 plan, as they released major changes that they will be undergoing in the next couple of years. The eight-person, high-speed chairlift from Doppelmayr will replace the Disciples I and II chairlifts and will take a little over three minutes to get into the summit. Installation begins in the summer of 2022 and will be open for the 22-23 season. The other major announcement was the construction of North America’s longest timbered built suspension bridge (Skybridge Michigan) and will open in the summer of 2022. A video featuring renderings of these two additions is below.

Other improvements that are underway this season include a complete renovation of the thirty-five rooms and suites of the Chalet Edelweiss, which will open this November, and the installation of the solar array. The airport next to the resort is undergoing a major expansion,  which “Phase 1 of the project takes flight in October 2021 with grinding, widening, and gravel overlay of the runway, setting the stage for a quick paving/grooving in the spring. We’ll install an AWOS weather station upon completion. Phase 2 includes hangar-minimums with new runway lighting to cater to our fly-in/fly-out guests, a standard set in the early 1970s when we first introduced the airstrip.”

Other improvements that will occur between 2023 and 2030 include:
