Other improvements that are underway this season include a complete renovation of the thirty-five rooms and suites of the Chalet Edelweiss, which will open this November, and the installation of the solar array. The airport next to the resort is undergoing a major expansion, which “Phase 1 of the project takes flight in October 2021 with grinding, widening, and gravel overlay of the runway, setting the stage for a quick paving/grooving in the spring. We’ll install an AWOS weather station upon completion. Phase 2 includes hangar-minimums with new runway lighting to cater to our fly-in/fly-out guests, a standard set in the early 1970s when we first introduced the airstrip.”
Other improvements that will occur between 2023 and 2030 include:
- The area’s first indoor/outdoor waterpark.
- A renovation of the historic Clock Tower Lodge.
- Lift Replacements (Meadows, Super Bowl, Victor, Boyneland, and the Mountain Express).
- Snowmaking Enhancements.
- An expansion of the Sports Complex at the base.
- Creation of a live music venue.
-
A Deer Lake + Beach House Italian-themed restaurant with a Pavillion.
- A new Pete Dye golf course that was designed years ago by the resort
- A renovation of the Pearson Farmhouse either into a wedding venue or a ski museum.
