“There’s been a lot of cycling in Rockwood Park since the 90s and a lot of that stuff is old school technical mountain biking that tends to have a lot of peddling, a lot of up and down, and a lot of technical features,”The Saint John Cycling Club President Greg Bosence
The two new trails add 2 km of cycling pathways to the park, starting at a higher elevation.
“It’s kind of downhill flow trail, people can go fairly fast and not peddle a whole lot, until they get to the bottom. It’s not a pure downhill, it’s more of an all-around mountain bike trail where there’s a little bit of ups and downs but there’s lots of flowy sections where you gain a lot of speed.” -The Saint John Cycling Club Vice President Dean Rice
In a tribute to the areas ski origins, the foundation of the t-bar will remain in place. Very cool.
