This remotely-triggered avalanche is incredible to watch. Watching the snow line crawl over the water looks like some CGI effect you would see in a movie. Imagine if that slide occurred without planned mitigation, and preparation… terrifying.
Thank goodness we have modern technology to mitigate avalanches to a certain extent. I feel like living in the mountain before explosive ordinance use and helicopters was a real crap shoot if you were going to be killed by an avalanche on a random day…
This avalanche is definitely one of the largest I’ve seen recorded, but “world’s biggest” might be a stretch. Can anybody pinpoint where this was filmed?
