On June 18th, the Pfeiffer Falls Trail in Big Sur, California reopened for the first time since it was destroyed by a wildfire in 2008. The .75 mile trail is part of the 1.5 mile Valley Loop trail, is rated as easy, and features views of a waterfall. Located in the Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, the trails infrastructure was eradicated from the Basin Complex Fire in June of 2008. Further delays were caused by a wildfire, landslides, and a Highway 1 road closure in 2016. According to the Save The Redwoods League, the renovation cost $2 million, including replacing asphalt with a seventy-foot pedestrian bridge.
