The new terrain is located on the southern flank of Sun Valley’s Bald Mountain, east of the Seattle Ridge day lodge and accessed from the Seattle Ridge high-speed quad chairlift. After descending through the new Sunrise terrain, skiers and riders are whisked swiftly back up the hill by the brand new Broadway high-speed quad chairlift, which rises an impressive 1582 vertical feet in just over a mile. This new Doppelmayr lift opened in December 2020 and replaced Bald Mountain’s oldest operating chairlift, Cold Springs.

The new terrain is a revelation for the renowned resort, known for decades as a leader in snow-making and grooming. By now offering a new ‘backcountry-style’ experience to the quiver, Sun Valley stakes its claim as one of the most innovative and diverse resorts in North America, increasing skiable acreage by 20% with sought-after glades, chutes and bowls for advanced through expert skiers and riders…”
