Let me ruin ski movies for you. They’re all loosely constructed around one formula that was crafted by Warren Miller:

Interesting/funny opening montage sequence. Narration from a famous skier/filmmaker/personality etc. Film is constructed of at least 4-5 segments across the globe, country, or region. Stories are told through narration, commentary, or dialogue. Really deep powder. Falls/wipeouts for comedic relief

It’s a formula that’s proven to work, so why not stick with it?

The answer? THIS Film.

Watch:

‘The Bunch- Is There Time For Matching Socks’ tells a story without much dialogue, and without narration. The audience is taken through a wild (somewhat trippy) ride through “The Bunch’s” life of skiing together and making movies. It’s incredibly entertaining to watch.

The grainy footage, quick transitions, use of Wes Anderson-esqe framing, and enchanting music all come together perfectly.

This movie is (how you say…?) MAGNIFIQUE!
