Saguaro National Park Searching For Persons Responsible For Dismantling Historic 1903 Cairn

I’ll be the first one to point out we’ve featured articles about the negative impact of stacking rocks in the backcountry, but that doesn’t mean you should go around destroying cairns with historical significance. Saguaro National Park in Arizona is looking for help identifying the person or persons responsible for dismantled the historic cairn on Rincon Peak. The cairn was a monument erected by an early surveyor back in 1903 and crucial in the development of detailed maps of the southern portion of the Arizona Territory prior to statehood.
