Illinois Ski Jumping Culture Dates Back To 1905

When you think about the outlying Chicagoland area you probably think either Kevin McCallister boobie trapping Wet Bandits or unending fields of corn. What you don’t think of is ski jumping but get this, there’s been a thriving ski jumping culture in suburban Illinois since 1905.  Way back in the day a group of Norwegian immigrants built the Norge Ski Club in Fox River Grove and its been in continuous operation ever since. Love when ski culture pops up in the most unlikely places:
