New Chairlift Coming to Loveland

The Know Outdoors is reporting that Loveland Ski Area’s proposition to replace Chair 6 has been approved by The Arapaho National Forest. The lift will be installed in the summer of 2021.

Chair 6 is a double fixed-grip lift that has been in operation for 40 years. The new lift will either be a fixed-triple or a high-speed quad. Loveland is looking to improve the lift’s up-hill capacity to 2,400 skiers per hour.

If you’ve been following my posts you know that I like slow fixed-grip lifts, but I also love when ski resorts invest money to expansion and improvements. If you’ve been to Loveland, Chair 6 isn’t the biggest draw for advanced terrain. So, this change in the lift probably won’t make a huge impact on me or you.  But it’s still a step in the right direction for improving the infrastructure for the long-term skiing and riding at Loveland.
