BASE Jumper Survives Parachute Malfunction In Italy

Super intense footage of a B.A.S.E. jump gone wrong on Monte Brento near Trento, Italy. The jumper who is only identified as Karl threw a smooth backflip off the launch zone and was tracking nicely away from the cliff face until he pulled his chute and immediately knew something was wrong.
You can hear the panic in his voice as he wrestles with the tension knots which kept his canopy from properly deploying. Luckily he survived the sickening impact but had to be airlifted to hospital where he was treated for a broken tibia plateau on his right leg and cuts to his hands.
