Skiing/Snowboarding in August at Breckenridge

Peak 10

Breckenridge locals had themselves a day last weekend. Dozens of people congregated on Breck’s Peak 10 to shred a substantial snowfield that remains in the Fourth of July Bowl.

The event was put together by Zach Griffin, a Breck local, to raise money for a Front Range snowskater who was paralyzed earlier this season. Robbie Knab was pushing the boundaries of snowskating before his accident, including taking on massive jumps (see below).

The event organizers dug out a 15-turn, 700 ft. snake course, and a homemade terrain park. Check out the photos and videos below. It times like this that I ask myself why I haven’t moved to Summit County yet…
