“It was all mountains. And when I get tourists coming into the Colorado Welcome Center in Lamar, the fact that Colorado is heavily represented in our icons by mountains — to the exclusion of the Plains — actually leads to a fair number of tourists thinking that the Plains don’t even exist in Colorado.” Historian Jennifer Goodland
Colorado State Governor Jared Polis unveiled a new state logo yesterday at a press conference explaining the design with the following statement:
“The tree represents Colorado’s natural resources and spirit. The red symbolizes Colorado’s red soil and rocks. … Yellow represents the state’s abundant sunshine and wheat of the Great Plains. Our dual peaks represent the many mountains in our state. And our rich blue base represents water, which is absolutely critical to our state.”
What do you think of the new logo…fresh rebrand or wasn’t broke why’d you fix it?
